Description of specimen

I found what appeared to be an adult Emerald Ash Borer at Wilshire Park in the afternoon of July 6, 2023. It had a very green shiny body about an inch long. In doing some research on the internet, it seems like the EAB is only 1/4 to 1/2 inch long, so I'm now thinking that it may have been a look alike. But it did look a lot like an EAB that I see on the internet. If it wasn't an EAB, then it may have been a Metallic Wood Borer. Sorry, I did not save the specimen or take a picture of the insect, but I did squish it.

Commentary

EAB is all green, slender and smooth. Many of our look-alikes have other colors, ridges, and are often more robust. See look a-likes attached here.
