Description of specimen

I live along the Nehalem River and have huge swaths of what I have been told is Japanse Knotweed, adjacent to the river. I have just recently moved to this area and had no knowledge of this prior to my tree trimmer mentioning that it was very invasive. We have been trying to cut it down, but it grows too fast for us to keep up with it.
