Description of specimen
I was cleaning my trailer, and there it was sitting on my counter. No clue where it came from
Commentary
Thanks for your report! This is silver-spotted tiger moth, which can feed on Doug-fir, western hemlock, shore pine, Sitka spruce and other conifers. It feeds on older needles without destroying the buds and new needles. it is native species and not considered a major pest. You can let it go.

I'm fairly close to a creek and just up the road is ditch creek which is basically higher mountains. There's a large open field behind my house. Gps coordinates are 42.573385,-123.180195
