Description of specimen

Hi there, I found an Oregon White Ash with a dead top, bark splits, S shaped borer marks, basal suckers, and small exit holes. The holes are round and smaller than 1/8in, so I’m hoping that this is not emerald Ash borer, but I thought I should report it anyway. I didn’t find any adults, and I didn’t have tools to dig into the bark.

Commentary

It wouldn't be surprising to find EAB in your area. However, these exit holes are round and most of them are also too small to be EAB. Thanks for being on the lookout. www.OregonEAB.com
