Description of specimen

D-shaped bore hole, canopy dieback. no other signs. Several other trees showing the same canopy dieback at this point in the season but that is to be expected. I only found one D shaped hole. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/311976120

Commentary

This site was ground checked Sept 26, 2025 by ODF staff. The tree was located and it did appear to have an exit-hole. But upon investigating, there were no EAB larvae, tunneling or exit holes present on this tree or several others. The site is in a burn scar with signs of tree decline present in ash and many other species, likely due to drought/fire stress. At this time did not find EAB here.
